Don Frye thinks Brock Lesnar is a “waste of flesh” and is questioning his wins over former champions Randy Couture and Frank Mir.
“I think Mir and Couture threw the goddam fights,” said Frye on Inside The Cage TV. “I know Randy Couture’s a much better wrestler than Lesnar ever thought about being. Mir could’ve been the greatest of all time if it wasn’t for that motorcycle accident. There’s no way either one of those guys should have lost to Lesnar.”
In his UFC debut, Mir submitted Lesnar 90 seconds into the round after locking in a kneebar. Just two fights later and the former WWE champion once again had gold, this time being out of the UFC as he took a TKO against Couture. In the Mir rematch at UFC 100, Lesnar retained after another second round stoppage.
Frye, who fought for the UFC a few times during their early days, didn’t have kind words about Lesnar.
“I’ve had a couple dinners with Lesnar, had a couple drinks with him and found him to be a complete a—hole,” said Frye.
After two years away, Frye lost in 2011 out of Gladiator Challenge brining his overall record to 20-9-1-1 NC). The 47-year-old has no fights planned, but said the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) has contacted him. WSOF hasn’t confirmed that comment.
