Mike Chandler currently reigns as Bellator’s lightweight champion and is considered to be in the top 10 of that division. Next month, at UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson defends against Strikeforce’s final champion Gilbert Melendez.
It’s a close fight according to Chandler, who took a guess at the outcome.
“I’m going Ben Henderson on that one,” said Chandler on MMA Interviews. “I like him better as a fighter. I don’t know him personally.”
Since coming to the UFC, Henderson has six wins with two title defenses. The most recent came to Melendez’s teammate Nate Diaz in December.
Melendez was 11-1 for Strikeforce before they ceased operations in January. He has the most wins in the promotion’s history and is a two time champion.
They headline UFC on FOX 7, which is April 20 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.
