Chris Leben will look for his first win in two years when he returns to the UFC. The middleweight says he’s returning in July with an opponent to be announced soon.
“[I’m going to fight again] soon,” said Leben on Inside MMA. “I actually just got off the horn with Joe Silva, looks like they’ve got an opponent. As soon as he goes ahead and signs the fight then I’ll be able to go ahead and let everybody know.”
With such a large roster, Leben knows it’s difficult to get fights and he can’t rely on fighters calling each other out anymore.
Leben is 1-3 in his latest run with the UFC. He was suspend for a year, starting in November 2011, after he was caught with oxycontin post-fight at UFC 138. He took a decision loss in his return in December to Derek Brunson.
The only announced card for July is UFC 162 on the sixth of the month. It is headlined with Anderson Silva defending his middleweight championship against Chris Weidman.
