Brandon Vera didn’t take the win against Maurício “Shogun” Rua in his last fight, but he left a better fighter.
“I got my mojo back,” said Vera on MMA Prime. “I’m putting all the 205s and heavyweights on notice. I’m back son, like I crave it now. I don’t know what happened, but I got it back.”
After a win over Frank Mir in 2006, Vera started to take a dive for the worst. He has had one win since 2009, with losses to championship names such as Randy Couture, Jon Jones and Rua. Despite the lack of wins, UFC president Dana White was pleased with Vera’s recent performance.
“I think I’m just now coming full circle into my career,” said Vera. “I’m finding out more and more about myself as a fighter and as a person and as someone who loves this sport.”
There has been no discussion about Vera’s return, who last stepped inside the Octagon in August.
