Dave Courchaine has interest in fighting for Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC), but since they hold their shows out of Canada it makes it not possible for Courchaine to compete. When he was a young adult, he got a DUI and is not permitted to fight in Canada due to the charge.
“[MFC] is thinking about coming down in September to the States,” said Courchaine to MMA Weekly. “Nathan Coy is the 170 pound champ in the MFC and I lost a controversial fight in my pro debut against him.”
That loss came out of Strikeforce in 2008, with Coy taking an early first round knockout. Coy won their welterweight championship in May and is yet to defend it.
Courchaine has seven wins since last year. He already took a pair of first round wins this year. He hopes to add another six to his 14-5 record before the year ends.
