Zach Makovsky Signs With CFFC As Flyweight

Former Bellator bantamweight champion Zach Makovsky has signed a deal with Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) and will debut for them as a flyweight. He takes Claudio Ledesma on first. The winner gets a future flyweight title shot.

“When the opportunity came to sign a former champion like Zach, it was a no-brainer,” said Arias Garcia, CFFC general matchmaker, to Sherdog. “He brings excitement to an already stacked division. I think he will shine in his natural weight class of 125 pounds.”

After Makovsky won the Bellator bantamweight championship, he picked up a pair of non-title wins before defending his belt against Season 5 victor Eduardo Dantas. He lost the title followed by a split-decision to Anthony Leone in December. Makovsky then got released.

Ledesm rides back-to-back wins into his CFFC return. He owns five of his eight wins by decision and has never been finished.

The two meet at CFFC 24 from the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J on May 11.
