Brett Cooper was down by two rounds as he entered the final one against Dan Cramer. Knowing that he needed to stop the fight if he wanted to advance to the finals of the Season 8 middleweight tournament, Cooper came out swinging and it paid off as he left with a TKO win.
“I remember hitting him with a good one and everyone shouting to get on him,” said Cooper to Sherdog. “Finally, that one punch caused his eyes to change. I don’t remember it too much, but I remember going for the kill.”
It was an uppercut and several shots that quickly followed, which ended this one and gave Cooper his sixth straight win.
Less than 10 seconds into round one and Cramer almost had the fight finished after knocking Copper down. Before the defeat, Cramer had three wins since last year.
Both fighters were making their debut in a Bellator tournament.
Cooper now faces Doug Marshall in the finals. No date has been announced for the fight or if it will occur this season.
