Dan Cramer thinks he’s the underdog in the Season 8 middleweight tournament for Bellator, but it’s nothing new. Since his first fight, Cramer doesn’t feel he enters as the favorite
“I’ve been the underdog for my whole career,” said Cramer to MMA Junkie. “I fought my first pro-fight in the UFC at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. So after that everyone always wanted me to fight in the main event or the co-main event, so I’m used to being the underdog.”
He took a split-decision over Matt Arroyo in that UFC fight in January 2009. He was released after a decision loss to Matthew Riddle.
At 7-1, Cramer thinks he was the number eight seed in the tournament since he met Brian Rogers, who was considered the top pick, in the opening round. He takes on Brett Cooper at tonight’s Bellator 92.
Cooper comes in with five wins and a decision over Norman Paraisy in the opening round.
Bellator 92 comes from the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA. Spike TV airs the main card at 10 p.m. ET. Spike.com will handle preliminary fights.
