UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is known as one of the most unpredictable strikers in all of MMA. Add in an excellent ground game thanks to years in wrestling, and it is no wonder “Bones” is considered to be one of the top fighters in the world.
However, Jones knows that he can always get even better, and is taking it upon himself to do just that. The champion sent out a message via Twitter as he headed to a jiu-jitsu class Wednesday night.
“I’m excited to stop neglecting my weakness,” Jones wrote, adding in the hashtags jiu-jitsu, white belt and growth.
As a “white belt,” Jones still owns five submission victories to his credit, including ones over former UFC champions Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Vitor Belfort.
Jones, who is working at Gracie Barra gym to improve his jiu-jitsu, will face Chael Sonnen at UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen in April.
