UFC officials confirmed a previously reported light heavyweight bout between Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans for UFC 161. The fight, though, will not serve as the main event.
UFC 161 takes place June 15 from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. The promotion plans to announce the main event in the coming days.
Henderson (29-9) will be seeking to improve to 7-3 when he takes on former UFC champion Evans. He was defeated by Lyoto Machida last month.
“Suga” is also coming off a loss, as Antonio Rogerio Nogueira dealt him a second consecutive defeat in February. Evans (17-3-1) has amassed a 12-3-1 record inside the Octagon.
The card also currently features Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Nogueira and Jake Shields vs. Tyron Woodley.
