With another win to his name, Yushin Okami called out former middleweight title contender Michael Bisping during a post-fight interview after UFC on FUEL TV 8. The Brit was quick to respond and doesn’t seem excited about the challenge.
“Join the back of the line is all I’m going to say,” said Bisping. “Everyone seems to call me out at the moment and I’m happy with that, it means I’m going to have a job for a long, long time.”
Okami took a split-decision over Hector Lombard this past weekend to bring his UFC record to 13-4. Along with Bisping, the southpaw is ranked in the top five of the division.
Bisping is coming off a loss to Vitor Belfort in January, where he would have become the No. 1 contender if he won. Several fighters have challenged Bisping since the loss. Bisping has been announced to return against Alan Belcher at UFC 159 from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on April 27.
Middleweight champion Anderson Silva currently has no opponent after defeating Stephan Bonnar in October.
