Last week, Court McGee claimed that Stroops Fitness had not paid him after he represented their logo in March. Since then, Stroops Fitness provided McGee with proof that they did fulfill their part of the contract in August 2012.
McGee’s manager sent out a statement to rectify the situation.
“I want to apologize to Stroops for the misunderstanding,” said McGee in a prepared statement. “When I said they had not paid me, I fully believed that was the case. I ask that you please stand behind Stroops and help to clear their name, as they had in fact paid me for this sponsorship.”
McGee said he unaware that the payment was fulfilled via two checks that were sent to his former manager Gary Ibarra.
After two decision losses last year, McGee picked up a win over Josh Neer over the weekend at UFC 157 in his welterweight debut. He is now 4-2 for the promotion.
