Former contestant on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), Justin Wren recently spent three weeks with children from the Mbuti Pygmy tribe in East Congo to help raise awareness about the horrific living conditions.
Wren expressed that his presence there was the first time any of villagers had seen a Caucasian, let alone one with a giant beard. With his iPhone in hand, Wren shot footage of his meeting with the local children.
“They are such a joy,” said Wren. “We are working to help these people in need, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun while doing it.”
Wren appeared on season 10 of the TUF, before losing in the quarterfinals to the eventual winner Roy Nelson. At the finale of the season, he lost a split-decision to Jon Madsen. He earned three wins since then for various promotions, but hasn’t fought since 2010.
Below is footage Wren took from the trip.
