Thanks in part due to an injury in the Season 8 lightweight tournament, Jason Fischer gets a chance to avenge the only blemish on his record when he meets David Rickels tomorrow, Febraury 28, in the semifinals.
Rickels took a decision over Fischer at Bellator 82 in November via a close decision. Before that, Fischer had stopped his last six opponents with three of those coming out of Bellator.
“Dave knows we have unfinished business,” said Fischer to MMA Junkie. “We both knew we’d have a rematch, but we didn’t think it’d be this soon. That was a very close fight we put on the first time, and it could’ve gone either way – but I didn’t get the nod.”
After Alexander Sarnavskiy suffered an injury during the opening round, Fischer was selected as the replacement.
Bellator 91 comes from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM. The main card airs on Spike TV following the preliminary fights, which stream on Spike.com. The other side of the lightweight tournament sees Will Brooks vs. Saad Awad.
