Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans made it known recently that he wanted to test his skills against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. However, it appears UFC president Dana White has something else in mind.
“That fight’s probably not going to happen,” said White, on UFC Tonight Tuesday. “If any fight happens, it would probably be Rashad Evans vs. Dan Henderson.”
All three fighters – Evans, Henderson and Rua – are coming off losses. Rua is also a former UFC light heavyweight champion.
Henderson, who was defeated by Lyoto Machida in a No. 1 contender match last weekend, stated that he wanted to fight more often this year after sitting out all of 2012.
