Ronda Rousey’s manager Darin Harvey has a spot in his heart for another top female fighter in Gina Carano. Harvey has spoken to Carano’s manger about the two possibly going at inside the Octagon.
“Gina has a very lucrative movie career and it doesn’t really make a lot of sense for Gina,” said Harvey on The MMA Hour. “But Gina is a fighter in her heart and I think Gina may want to prove that she can beat someone like Ronda who is considered the best.”
Harvey continued that it would be difficult to see two people he cares about fight, but at the same time knows it’s part of the sport.
Carano hasn’t competed since her lone defeat to Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos in 2009, when the Strikeforce featherweight championship was up for grabs. She has since pursed a movie career and last starred in Haywire. Carano hasn’t ruled out a possible return to fighting.
Rousey is currently waiting for word on her next opponent after defeating Liz Carmouche at this past Saturday’s UFC 157.
