Fighters like Robbie Lawler, Nah-Shon Burrell, Bobby Green and others have all moved over to the UFC from Strikeforce and earned impressive victories. UFC president Dana White has taken notice and is impressed with the imports.
“Strikeforce had hungry fighters,” White said. “These (expletive) guys are hungry. Most of them haven’t fought in a year, they didn’t know what was going on with their careers. Now, they’re in here and they know what it was like (to be in Strikeforce). They’re hungry, I love it.”
Strikeforce was purchased by Zuffa, the parent company of the UFC. They decided to fold Strikeforce after a final January card, and many of the fighters have signed deals with the UFC.
White feels the additions of the Strikeforce fighters will “raise the bar on all these other guys.”
