In his second UFC stint, Kenny Robertson was able to secure a first round submission over Brock Jardine to close out the Facebook portion of UFC 157. Even after coming off the victory, Robertson will be present at his other job as a high school woodshop teacher to start another week of classes.
When he returns to his classroom, Robertson hopes that some of his students got a chance to watch the fight. He went on to praise the school’s staff and students.
“I’ll be in school on Monday,” said Robertson to MMA Fighting. “I don’t think [I’m the coolest teacher]. It’s a good school.”
Robertson had been out of action since July after he cut his hand in class on a blade.
In his original UFC run, Robertson was cut after his first fight. Since returning to the promotion he is 1-1 and took the Submission of the Night honor with a Suloev stretch, which is an inverted leglock taught to him by former PRIDE fighter Nino Schembri.
