UFC champions Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones all have scheduled – or rumored – matches ahead of them for the coming months. However, if they make it out with their titles intact, UFC president Dana White is promising a super-fight between two of the three.
Which two step inside the Octagon against one another, though, is the guess of anybody right now.
“GSP is going to defend his title against Nick Diaz, Anderson Silva will defend his title this summer, and before the end of the year, we will see a super-fight with either GSP and Anderson Silva, or Anderson Silva and Jon Jones,” White said (thanks to MMAjunkie.com for the quotes). “One of them is coming.”
GSP faces Diaz at UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz next month, Jones meets Chael Sonnen at UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen, and Silva is expected to battle Chris Weidman around the beginning of July.
White mentioned the match going down in Las Vegas, Texas at Cowboys Stadium, Brazil or Canada. Talk of trying to set a new single-show record has been brought up by the UFC boss several times over the past year-plus when discussing a super-fight between two UFC champions.
