Diego Nunes is no longer under contract to the UFC, after the promotion announced his release over the last 24 hours. Now in need of a job, the Brazilian likes the idea of competing for Bellator.
“I want an event where I can evolve, do my job, having tough fights and win my space,” said Nunes to TATAME. “Bellator seems nice, but there are many others.”
At the time of his release, Nunes was 3-3 for the UFC. Each of those fights went to a decision with Nunes taking Fight of the Night honors once. He joined the UFC after a run in the WEC that saw him go 4-1. Those contests went to a decision too. Nunes last stoppage was in 2008.
Where Nunes heads next is not known and Bellator has not mentioned anything about signing the featherweight.
