Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal can be seen on Bellator and TNA Wrestling, but there’s one place he’s not headed and that’s the UFC.
“I don’t give a damn about the UFC,” said Lawal on Darce Side Radio. “I just go where I’m wanted and respected. Bellator is where it’s at. I don’t care about the UFC. I don’t care if I ever fight for the UFC.”
After a stint in Strikeforce, which saw Lawal win their light heavyweight championship, he was released while serving a one year suspension for steroids. The release happened after Lawal made comments towards a female member of the athletic commission.
He would sign with Bellator and made quick work in the opening round of the Season 8 light heavyweight tournament. Bellator 90, which was yesterday February 21, didn’t have the same results. There was a first round knockout, but it was Lawal who suffered defeat this time. Emanuel Newton took the KO with a spinning back fist.
Now that Lawal is out of the tournament, his next step is not known. He’s not appeared for TNA Wrestling since October.
