MMA Hands Should Be Considered Deadly Weapon, Says Mother Of Deceased Son

A video caught the audio of Washington native Christopher Cooper getting into a fight with MMA fighter Jason Ellis a few years ago. It ended with Cooper dying after being in coma for 12 days.

Cooper’s mother argued that fighters are trained to potentially kill someone with one blow.

“His hands should be considered a deadly weapon,” said Christine Deubel to Kiro TV. “That’s what he’s trained for.”

Ellis turned pro in 2009 and took a win in his only fight. His amateur record was 3-1. Cooper competed solely out of Fight Night Events in California.
