Will Ribeiro was nearly killed when he fell off a motorcycle with no helmet in 2008. The injuries sustained to the head ended his MMA career and almost his life. To this day, he still struggles with seizures from the accident on a monthly basis.
“My doctor informed me that I should expect to have seizures for the rest of my life due to the severity of my cranial injuries,” said Ribeiro to MMA Junkie.
Ribeiro is mostly confined to a wheelchair. He is able to take a few steps with a cane, but not outdoors.
The injuries paralyzed the left side of the body for the former WEC star. He was 1-1 for the promotion with an overall record of 10-2. The accident was 13 days after his last fight for the WEC.
