The ongoing Bellator and Eddie Alvarez lawsuit could be headed to a conclusion. Bellator’s attorney Patrick English has asked the court to extend their period to respond to counterclaims by Alvarez in connection with their lawsuit.
The extension now runs until March 1. Today, Bellator was to respond in court to Alvarez.
MMA Payout reports that, “this second extension appears that the parties are willing to negotiate a settlement without further litigation.”
Bellator had matched the UFC’s offer after Alvarez’s contract was fulfilled. He ended his Bellator career as a former lightweight champion and was coming off a pair of first round wins.
Alvarez’s next move is not clear pending the lawsuit being settled.
