Bantamweight: Renan Barão vs. Michael McDonald for the interim bantamweight championship
Renan Barão looks for his first interim bantamweight title defense and comes in on an impressive 29 fight win streak, with the last six coming at WEC and UFC shows. He submitted two of those wins in the first round. Michael McDonald entered the UFC with four wins in a row and has matched that number since he started for them in 2011. His last two opponents he knocked out in the first round and lasted just over a combined time of four minutes.
Featherweight: Cub Swanson vs. Dustin Poirier
In the WEC, Cub Swanson went just over .500. After failing in his first UFC outing, Swanson won the last three all by stoppage. Dustin Poirier had four in a row for the UFC before losing Fight of the Year to Chan Sung Jung in 2012. He returned with an early submission win on The Ultimate Fighter Finale.
Light Heavyweight: Jimi Manuwa vs. Cyrille Diabaté
Jimi Manuwa won the UCMMA light heavyweight championship in 2009 and has five defenses. A doctor stopped his opponent after two rounds in his UFC debut. Of his 12 wins, he has ended all of them, and nine within round one. After trading wins and losses early in his UFC run, Cyrille Diabaté spent last year earning a pair of wins.
Welterweight: Gunnar Nelson vs. Jorge Santiago
After Gunnar Nelson found success in BAMMA and Cage Contenders, he earned a submission win in his first UFC fight in September. Jorge Santiago went 0-2 before the UFC released him. After two stoppages within round one for Titan FC, Santiago now makes his return to the promotion.
Light Heavyweight: James Te-Huna vs. Ryan Jimmo
James Te-Huna went 1-1 early in his UFC career. The loss came to now top contender Alexander Gustafsson in early 2011. Since then, he has won three in a row, which includes two first round knockouts. Ryan Jimmo earned seven MFC wins on his way to taking their light heavyweight championship. In his UFC debut over the summer, he knocked out Anthony Perosh in seven seconds.
Welterweight: Che Mills vs. Matthew Riddle
The first fight on the main card has Che Mills looking for another first round win. He has two out of the UFC went 1-1 last year. Matthew Riddle would have had three straight wins before he tested positive for marijuana and his second win was overturned. All but one of his those wins came by decision.
