When Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson meet later in the month, UFC veteran Bas Rutten will clearly be rooting for the former PRIDE champion after expressing his dislike for Machida’s style.
“Machida doesn’t have a lot of weapons,” said Rutten on MMA Interviews. “Whatever he does, he does really well. He’s got great distance, great accuracy, but his attack is always the same. It’s a cross, or a kick and a cross. When you push him, he always moves to the same side.”
Rutten believes that Henderson should go for the rush early and look for another legendary knockout.
Henderson will make his return after being out for 15 months and Machida looks to gain momentum after dropping the light heavyweight championship in 2010.
They are the co-main event of UFC 157 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. That happens February 23.
