According to a report by the Brazilian news source Tatame, the scheduled middleweight battle between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold will take place at UFC on FX 8 on May 18. That would align it a week before UFC 160, which goes down May 25 on Memorial Day weekend.
The Brazilian city of Jaragua do Sul would host the event, as the Arena Jaragua holds around 16,000. It would mark the second Brazilian card of the calendar year, as Belfort previously competed on the first last month.
Rockhold was the last man to hold the Strikeforce middleweight title. He will be making his UFC debut, and posted on Twitter after news of the fight date was made public knowledge with a simple, “It’s on!”
