Elvis Mutapcic: TUF Looks At Personality When Screening

Elvis Mutapcic made two attempts to join The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) cast. Each time saw the middleweight not advance past the initial screening. This week he gets a chance at former contest Sam Alvey for Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC). Mutapcic thinks his lack of charisma is why he didn’t get a second look by the UFC.

It’s a sweet feeling for Mutapcic to meet someone who made it into the house.

“I’m not saying there isn’t a lot of great fighters on the show or that have come off the show, but they look for personality and they’re just trying to make a TV show,” said Mutapcic to MMA Mania. “That’s not me. The only part of me is that I’ll fight my behind off whenever I step into the cage.”

Mutapcic is 12-2 and has finished his last five opponents. Alvey is riding a pair of wins since April, in which he needed just over a combined time of three minutes.

MFC 36: Reality Check is this Friday, February 15, and can be seen on AXS TV. The card comes from the Shaw Conference Centre in Canada.
