Frank Shamrock thinks Fight Master: Bellator MMA will yield similar results to the UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).
“I think the relationship with Bellator and Spike TV is going to do wonders for the sport,” said Shamrock to MMA Weekly.
TUF debuted in January 2005 on Spike TV. It drew large ratings and added depth to the roster. Last month, Bellator debuted on Spike TV with live cards.
“When the UFC got the Spike TV relationship going, they were dying,” said Shamrock. “It basically saved their company, which in return saved our sport.”
Shamrock will be one of the four coaches on Bellator’s new reality show, which is set to air this summer. The other coaches are Randy Couture, Greg Jackson and Joe Warren.
