Former UFC fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller is taking a different approach than the majority of other MMA fighters when it comes to discussing the decision to axe wrestling from the Summer Olympics.
While nothing has been made official, it appears that the IOC will cut wrestling starting in 2020. Miller, however, believes that it could be a good thing for MMA going forward.
“You guys really should not be trying to (save Olympic wrestling) if you are fans of MMA,” Miller posted on Twitter. “The influx of talent into fighting would be staggering.”
The 32-year-old Miller was cut from the UFC back in early 2012 after a second consecutive loss. He currently holds a career record of 28-9.
