Earlier in the week, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos’ manager Tito Ortiz announced that his fighter wanted out of her UFC contract. There has been no announcement from the UFC if the request was granted.
“When I have a release from the UFC, I think more opportunities will come to me,” said Santos on MMA Interviews. “Then me and Tito talk about better opportunities.”
Since Ronda Rousey won the Strikeforce bantamweight championship last year, she has been calling out Santos on her steroid use after failing a drug test. The two continued to trade verbal jabs as the UFC introduced FMMA.
Rousey was unwilling to fight Santos in a heavier weight class and Santos was never fully committed to making the 10 pound drop.
Santos continued training during her suspension, keeping an eye on her weight. She currently tips the scales at 154 pounds.
