Throughout the Asian and European MMA market, Melvin Manhoef has been a standout for the past 17 years. He was recently spotted in attendance at UFC 156 and speculation began if the Dutchman was headed to the UFC.
Manhoef denied any contract was offered, but was open to joining the promotion.
“I think everybody would want to be fighting in the UFC, because [it’s] one of the biggest organizations at the moment,” said Manhoef on The MMA Hour. “I’m a fighter and I want to entertain people, so for me it’d be nice to fight in the UFC. If the chance is there, I’m going to do it, 100 percent.”
Throughout his career, Manhoef took wins in Cage Rage, K-1 and DREAM. He fought unsuccessfully twice for Strikeforce. Last year, Manhoef took two first round stoppages in DREAM and ONE FC.
Manhoef is tentatively scheduled for the April 5 ONE FC card from Singapore.
