Randy Couture took some time out of his day to clarify recent headlines about the UFC hall of famer and poke fun at UFC president Dana White.
There is a misconception Couture believes that he signed a contract with Bellator. He hasn’t and his contract is with Spike TV, which airs Bellator.
“I think that is a distinction that is largely misunderstood and maybe lost on Dana [White],” said Couture on Knockout Radio. “He’s not one for details. But at the end of the day, that’s the reality of it.”
Couture went on that his only involvement with Bellator is being part of their new reality show Fight Master: Bellator MMA. He continued that the press conference this week to announce the show was the first time he ever met Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney.
The show tapes in a few weeks and airs during the summer. The winner earns a welterweight tournament spot.
