Keith Berry recently announced that Bellator offered the former Strikeforce fighter a contract and he already has a date set.
“I don’t think I’m supposed to say, but I’m throwing it out there, ‘I’m fighting at Pechanga on March 7 for Bellator,’” said Berry to MMA Interviews. “I’m really excited about it. I’ll be the hometown boy looking to get a big win to bring me to the next level.”
During Berry’s Strikeforce run he went 0-3. He fared better when he fought for KOTC and WEC. The light heavyweight ended 2012 going 2-1, winning his last two out of XFS. Both wins came in round one by TKO.
Berry was just e-mailed the contract and doesn’t know the exact details such as the number of fights.
Bellator 92 comes from the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA. Confirmed is the finals of the Season 7 lightweight tournament between Dave Jansen vs. Marcin Held.
