When the World Series of Fight (WSOF) announced their second show, it came after a long wait. The bigger news was that they landed a three year TV deal with the NBC Sports Network, after their first show was done as a onetime deal. WSOF president Ray Sefo descried the reaction following the first show as smooth from executives at the TV network.
“Everybody was super excited and very happy with the way the show turned out, and the way it looked,” said Sefo to MMA Mania. “I think it just took a little extra time to close the deal because of the holidays, and we understood that.”
The debut show aired on November 3 and was headlined by former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski defeating Devin Cole in the first round. WSOF 2 is March 23 from the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Arlovski returns to fight UFC veteran Anthony Johnson in the main event.
“We are really happy with the way that the deal was worked,” said Sefo.
