Anthony Pettis’ quick decision to text UFC president Dana White and ask for Jose Aldo paid off, as MMAjunkie.com is reporting that the two will meet in August for Aldo’s UFC featherweight title.
Pettis (16-2), who was confirmed as the No. 1 contender at lightweight, offered his services for a match with Aldo over the weekend. No venue for the card, which goes down August 3, has been made.
“Two of the baddest dudes in the fight business are going to fight at 145 pounds,” White said. “These guys are two of the most amazing, gravity-defying athletes in the sport.”
Aldo (22-1) improved to 4-0 with a recent decision victory over Frankie Edgar.
