Vinny Magalhaes and Phil Davis have been trading verbal jabs about the other attempting to duck out of a fight. With the two finally set to meet, Magalhaes questioned Davis’ status in the light heavyweight division.
“In my opinion, skill wise, Phil Davis should not even be a Top 10 fighter,” said Magalhaes to MMA Mania. “There are many guys in the UFC that are more well-rounded than him, but the only thing he has going for him is his wrestling, which I respect.”
After going 0-2 in his first UFC stint, Magalhaes has returned with six wins mostly out of M-1. Davis comes in search of another championship shot. He lost a title eliminator almost a year ago.
Magalhaes vs. Davis is set for UFC 159 from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on April 27.
