Isaac Vallie-Flagg didn’t think he had a future after Strikeforce closed. That all changed when the UFC brought him over to meet veteran Yves Edwards at UFC 156. After the fight, Vallie-Flagg revealed that he was sick the entire time.
“I got sick Wednesday and was happy that I pushed through to fight Yves,” said Vallie-Flagg to MMA Fighting. “[The day of the fight], I was hacking up brown and green stuff on the way down here. I’m not feeling great, but happy I won.”
Vallie-Flagg was able to earn a split-decision win over Edwards. He knew that he won the first round and the lost the second, leaving the outcome to the final round. Vallie-Flagg now has a 12 fight win streak, which includes the last three that went to a split-decision. Edwards has been trading wins and losses the last few years.
Their encounter was on the preliminary end of UFC 156, which came from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.
