Dustin Jacoby, who went 0-2 in his brief UFC career, captured the Road to Glory USA light heavyweight tournament title Friday night. Jacoby entered the kickboxing tournament on just 48 hours notice, replacing a fighter who pulled out.
Making his first appearance in kickboxing, Jacoby scored three TKO victories, including two in the opening round. He topped Roy Boughton in the semifinals, before claiming a one-year contract and $20,000 grand prize by besting Brian Collette in the finals.
The 24-year-old Jacoby used a a pair of knockdowns to oust Boughton, and finished Collette with 10 seconds left in the first round after dropping the challenger.
