The third Bellator outing on Spike TV saw the ratings continue to drop, with yesterday’s show earning an average 705,000 viewers. Bellator 87 was the first time a title wasn’t decided on a card since moving to Spike TV on January 17.
The semifinals for the Season 8 lightweight tournament were determined at the show. Moving to the next stage in the tournament is David Rickels and Will Brooks, whom each took decision wins. Saad Awad, who filled in on 24 hours notice, needed only 31 seconds to win by submission. Alexander Sarnavskiy opened the main card with a decision win.
Half of the 10 fights were decided in the first round.
The current season has averaged 858,000 viewers.
