A more focused Dan Hornbuckle is ready for a change after three failed attempts to win the Bellator welterweight tournament.
“That fire is back in training,” said Hornbuckle to MMA Junke Radio. “It feels good to get those chills, like, ‘Damn, I’m ready to fight.'”
Hornbuckle jumped when Legacy FC offered him a spot in the main event against UFC veteran Pete Spratt. The furthest Hornbuckle made it in the Bellator tournament was to the finals against now champion Ben Askren. His other two performances didn’t go past the first round. Spratt is 1-1 for Legacy FC, which includes an 18 second TKO in his debut for them.
As for the future, Hornbuckle has interest in fighting welterweight champion Jeff Rexroad.
Legacy FC 17 takes place tomorrow, February 1, from the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, TX. The main card airs live on AXS TV.
