José Aldo apparently doesn’t mind pointing out the flaws in his upcoming opponent Frankie Edgar. The drop in weight class for Edgar was the major reason for Aldo’s call that he would remain champion.
“One of the biggest challenges for Frankie is going to be making the weight,” said Aldo. “The other big challenge he has to deal with is the speed and technique I have in this weight class.”
Edgar dismissed the comment and said everything felt the same as his lightweight years. During that time, he went on to win and defend the UFC lightweight title. Aldo comes in untouched out of the WEC and UFC. He has been featherweight champion since 2009.
UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar is this Saturday, February 2, and comes from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.
