Bellator 87 is a go as it features 10 fights, with four on the main card and six taking place at the preliminary end. The main card was shaken up after it was revealed within the last 24 hours that former tournament winner Patricky “Pitbull” Freire was injured and thus out of the main event.
The main card, which consists solely of the opening round of the Season 8 featherweight tournament, saw a slight change due to Freire’s injury. Saad Awad moves up from the preliminary card to fill the void.
The tournament is now as follows: Saad Awad vs. Guillaume DeLorenzi, Lloyd Woodard vs. David Rickels, Thiago Michel vs. Alexander Sarnavskiy and Will Brooks vs. Ricardo Tirloni.
Bellator 87 takes place from the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant, MI. The preliminary fights start at 8 p.m. ET and stream at Spike.com. The main card follows at 10 p.m. on Spike TV.
All fighters made weight.
