Rick Hawn and his payment dispute HTFU appears to be settled. Not only did the clothing line pay him, after initially holding out, but Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney decided to cover the cost of the check. With the extra money, Hawn has decided to give half of his 3,000 to an unknown charity.
“How Rick handled this situation, deciding to give a large part of the additional check he finally received from them to charity, speaks to his great character,” said Rebney to MMA Junkie. “Rick will be back better than ever, and you’ll be seeing a lot of him and his KO power on Spike.”
Hawn was originally set to receive $1,500 for a losing effort against lightweight champion Michael Chandler at Bellator 85. HTFU put a stop payment on the check as they believed Hawn didn’t fulfill his role with them. Hawn and his camp disputed the reason.
There is no date for when Hawn returns inside the cage.
