With several years of action under his name, KOTC bantamweight champion Donald Sanchez (28-13) thinks that he’s on the cusp of crossing over to a larger promotion.
“I want to make it to the big stage and prove I can fight with all of them,” said Sanchez to MMA Weekly. “I want to be there and I think this is the year to do it.”
Sanchez held the KOTC interim bantamweight title once and their unified belt twice. For almost his entire career, Sanchez has called KOTC home. After moderate success, Sanchez found his groove in 2009 picking up a career high of seven straight wins. He since dropped to 5-3 in recent outings.
He holds five straight wins out of KOTC, with four of those being last year. He is on a three fight win streak, finishing his last two opponents by stoppage within two rounds.
His return to action hasn’t been confirmed.
