Ryan Bader Earns His Eighth UFC Victory With Submission Win

Former Ultimate Fighter winner Ryan Bader picked up his eighth UFC victory Saturday night, submitting Vladimir Matyushenko just 50 seconds into their prelim bout at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Dodson.

Bader, who was defeated by Lyoto Machida in 2012, improved to 3-1 in his last four fights and 15-3 overall. He is 8-3 in the UFC, with all three defeats – Machida, Tito Ortiz, Jon Jones – coming to current or former UFC champions.

“Darth” landed a huge right that floored Matyushenko, and pounced, locking in a guillotine choke.

“I’ve been working a lot (on that move),” Bader said. “I was working on it all camp.”

The 50-second submission victory was the quickest in the UFC’s light heavyweight division ever.
