Josh Barnett has yet to officially sign a contract to compete in MMA again. And, it appears the former UFC heavyweight champion is growing tired of repeatedly answering the same question: will you be fighting in the UFC.
“No, I am not in the UFC yet, but I would love to be in the UFC fighting in the Octagon again being back on the mats where I won the heavyweight title 11 years ago,” Barnett posted on his Facebook page Saturday. “It’s the biggest promotion, with the most exposure, and the best heavyweight division. Plus it’s abundantly clear – it’s where you guys want to see me fighting.”
Barnett, who last fought for Strikeforce earlier this month, added, “I don’t know at this point where my next fight is but I will train and prepare for war with the world because that’s what I do…and the next battlefield could be the UFC.”
UFC president Dana White has stated he believes Barnett will sign with the promotion soon. Barnett left the UFC after a failed drug test and issues with his contract.
