Jon Jones (17-1) isn’t amused with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s (32-10) latest actions as he prepares to exit the UFC. Leading up to the recent UFC on FOX 6 press conference, Jackson spoke about his dissatisfaction with the UFC and didn’t know if he was going to resign once he completed his upcoming fight, which is the last one on his contract. At the conference, Jackson said he was leaving the UFC.
“He’s a wuss,” said Jones on the Opie & Anthony Show. “He has this tough guy persona, but he complains about anything that doesn’t go in his favor. ‘Oh, my contract. Oh, he wants to take me down, that’s not real fighting.’ He is such a baby.”
At UFC 135, Jones handed Jackson his second submission career loss. The other one came out of PRIDE in 2011. After that UFC encounter, the two were friendly at the post-fight press conference trading jokes about Jones’ smelly feet.
After that loss for Jackson, he was handed his second defeat in a row against Ryan Bader. It marked the first time he had back-to-back losses in his entire career. Jackson recently revealed that the UFC urged him to take that fight with Bader, despite claims that he was injured.
Jackson will meet Glover Teixeira in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 6 today, January 26. The show airs from the United Center in Chicago, IL with the main card starting at 8 p.m. ET.
