TUF Loss Not Sitting Well With Saad Awad

Since Saad Awad (12-4) failed to win on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 16, he now shifts focus towards Bellator.

“After I dropped The Ultimate Fighter, I’ve been training,” said Awad on MMA Interviews. “I didn’t take any time off from training and Bellator called at the perfect time. I was already in shape.”

He fights Jason Fischer (5-1) to close out the preliminary card of Bellator 87.

Since fights on TUF don’t count towards records, as the results are not submitted, Awad finds himself with four straight wins. Three of those occurred in the first round, which took Awad a total of two minutes to complete. His other win went into the second round. Fischer is 2-1 for Bellator, losing in his last appearance.

“I’m tired of being that guy on the backburner,” said Awad.

Bellator 87 comes from the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, MI. Spike TV airs the main card and will handle the preliminary fights.
