Last year, when former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson stepped on the scale in Japan, the normally loud and boisterous fighter appeared different. That’s because Jackson knew he had missed hitting the 205-pound mark for his fight with Ryan Bader after suffering a knee injury.
Now, fully-healed up, Jackson is set to face Glover Teixeira Saturday night at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Dodson. And just in case anybody was wondering if he will make weight, Jackson made sure to let everyone know his current situation hours ahead of weigh-ins.
“Only 2 more pounds 2 go,” Jackson wrote on Twitter earlier today. “Easiest weight cut of my life!”
Jackson credited a shoe given to him by new sponsor Reebok for making it easier to run during his training camp. This is the final fight on Jackson’s UFC contract, and he is expected to test the free agent waters following Saturday.
